Greetings, All!

I hope you had a lovely weekend and are looking forward to a great week! Someone dropped off some treats in the office, so swing by for some yummy chocolate and spicy almonds. 😊 (And big thanks to our mystery treat-giver!)

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, it’s a good time to remind everyone that there are lots of different kinds of love, all of them worth celebrating! So be sure to celebrate love for any of your significant others as well as for your friends, family, and fellow humans. You can swing by the main office tomorrow to pick up cards to share with those you care about.

This is also a month for celebrating Black History, so if you haven’t already, go read this article on Influential Black Biomedical Researchers<https://web.iit.edu/pritzker-institute/influential-black-biomedical-researchers>. One of the names on the list is Bessie Blount Griffin, one of the earliest inventors in the field of physical therapy. She began creating assistive devices for injured veterans and patented an electronic feeding device for amputees in 1951. Read more of her incredible story by going here<https://lemelson.mit.edu/resources/bessie-blount>.

Finally, a reminder about heart health and cancer prevention awareness month. Here’s an article on Why college students need to be more heart health aware<https://wellfleetstudent.com/student-well-being/why-college-students-need-to-be-more-heart-health-aware/> and a scientific article from the Journal of Cancer Education titled Changing college students’ lifestyles in favor of cancer prevention: a case study<https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2641508/>.

There are exciting opportunities for you and fun things happening this week and beyond. Check them out below!
