Greetings, All!
I hope you all enjoyed the holiday weekend and are having a lovely Mardi Gras today. (I am celebrating by wearing purple, green, and a touch of yellow today. 😊) I didn’t get a chance to make a king cake for you to enjoy, but here’s a fun article that talks about some traditional recipes for Mardi Gras<https://www.allrecipes.com/gallery/mardi-gras-party-foods/>.
I also hope you are gearing up for the snowstorm that is likely to start this afternoon and carry on for the next few days. Be safe if you have to go out in it and it’s as scary as they are predicting it to be. Here’s an article from the Red Cross about Winter Storm Preparedness.<https://www.redcross.org/get-help/how-to-prepare-for-emergencies/types-of-emergencies/winter-storm.html>
As you know, it’s Black History month, so here’s a PBS interview with Dr. Elizabeth Wayne<https://www.pbs.org/newshour/brief/317622/dr-elizabeth-wayne>, a biomedical engineer, who speaks about being a black woman in the sciences and the importance of representation in STEM.
Finally, another reminder about heart health and cancer prevention awareness month. Here’s an article titled What To Do In Your 20s To Start Taking Care Of Your Heart<https://www.nwpc.com/heart-health-in-your-twenties/> and a CDC article titled Cancer Prevention During Early Adulthood<https://www.cdc.gov/cancer/dcpc/prevention/early-adulthood.htm>.
There are exciting opportunities for you and fun things happening this week and beyond. Check them out below!
