Good Morning Seniors!

The Student Senate is currently seeking to fill a senior senator vacancy.
If you are interested in this role, please review the information below and
reply to this email.

*Objectives of the Student Senate*

   - Approve new student organizations
   - Work with university administration on program and
   institutional improvements
   - Allocate SOAP funds (~$350k / year)
   - Represent student interests before the University
   - Lobby in Pierre, SD on behalf of the student body

Qualifications

   - Senior standing
      - Either by credit or by number of semesters at Mines
   - Good academic standing
   - Desire to benefit the student body

Senatorial Duties

   - Participate in weekly Senate meetings (5PM Wednesday)
   - Serve on one of five standing committees
      - Constitution
      - Governmental relations
      - Student affairs
      - Public relations
      - Finance
   - Remain attentive to the needs of the constituency

Incentives

   - Leadership and organizational development
   - Stipend ($250)
   - Networking opportunities with government and university leaders
   - Partnership with student leaders
   - Opportunity to positively impact the campus community
