Greetings, All!
I hope everyone had a great final July weekend! As we all deal with the fact that we are now in August 😲, we must enjoy the remaining weeks of the summer while also gearing up for the Fall 2022 semester! You’ll find lots of new things when you come back to campus: A newly renovated library, a fancy new look for our department’s front office, and lots of folks located in totally different places than they were in the spring (myself included).
Some of the changes for you to be aware of:
-Student Success moved out of Surbeck and into the Library
-Title IX and ADA Services was retitled “Title IX and Disability Services” and Amanda Lopez moved out of Surbeck and into the Library
-The Career and Professional Development Center was retitled “Career Services” and moved out of Surbeck and into the Library
-The Slide Rule moved out of the MI building and into the Library (across from the new maker space…both of which you should check out as soon as you come to campus!)
-Einstein Bros. moved to the Library (1st floor)
-Student Engagement moved from the lower level of Surbeck into the upper level (in the space that once held Student Success)
-Our department has also been playing musical offices, so your academic advisor may be in a different office (check with them whenever you schedule your meeting for the semester)
-I will soon be moving to another office in the same suite, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding me (my old office should be turned into a conference room soon) 😊
Also, August is National Wellness Month, so here’s a list of 100 Wellness Tips<https://www.sccmha.org/userfiles/filemanager/355/>. How many of these do you already practice? Which ones will you try to integrate into your routine this coming semester? I’ve been trying to go for walks more often (Pokemon Go is helping!), so you may see me around campus trying to get my 10,000 steps in each day!
There are exciting opportunities for you and fun things happening this week and beyond. Check them out below!
