[Hardrockerstudentathletes] NCAA Compliance & Academic Information - PLEASE READ

Good Morning Hardrockers,
In an effort to keep you up to date with what's going on in the Athletic Department and the NCAA, I have three topics to discuss with you. I decided to send one email rather than three separate emails (you're welcome!).


  1.  Academic Investment (Starts January 31st) For those of you that will be participating in AI this semester, use the rest of this week to get familiar with the card reader system at the Student Success Center & Maverick Room and get to know your program's success advisor!



Who is my Athlete Success Advisor? The following Advisors are assigned to each program.
Rob Sales
Football, Men's & Women's Golf
Corinne Heiberger
Volleyball, Women's Basketball, Cheer
Chris Roman
Soccer, Men's Basketball, ESports
John Bintliff
Men's & Women's Track & Field, XC

Where is Academic Investment? Student athletes will be required to attend a minimum of 2 hours per week at the Student Success Center & Maverick Room located in the Surbeck Center. Weekly hours begin on Sunday evenings and will be tracked electronically by the athletes scanning their Student ID Cards at either Surbeck location. Athletes can coordinate their time commitments to best fit their schedules to attend regularly scheduled Tutoring Sessions:
Sunday                                            7:00pm-10:00pm
Monday-Thursday                       3:00pm-5:00pm & 7:00pm-10:00pm
Friday                                              3:00pm-5:00pm


  1.  CARA Logs (Countable athletically Related Activities) : Student athletes will be randomly selected by Seth Nichols at the beginning of each month to confirm your program's CARA logs from the previous month.
  2.  Attached: PASSED NCAA Legislative Proposals from last week that effect you (the student athlete):

  1.  Transfer Portal Requirement
  2.  Summer term credit ours earned or accepted towards a minor.
