[Hardrockerstudentathletes] Welcome Back Night - Hardrocker Athletics

Good afternoon Hardrockers!
Like last year, we will be holding our Welcome Back Night for Hardrocker Athletics on Sunday, August 28th from 4:00pm-6:00pm  at the King Center in Goodell Gym (come early to pick up your shirt!)
A main focus this year is to put faces to resources within the athletic department and on campus to better serve you during your time at South Dakota Mines.
Adding to that, the first portion of the afternoon will be an introduction of resource leaders on campus and athletic administrative staff.
The second portion of the afternoon will be the activity.

  1.  Like last year, you have all been shuffled amongst yourselves and put on teams (along with individuals from the RCPD Community Outreach Program, more on that below) and will take part in a "Carnival Style" version of Hardrocker Olympics.
  2.  All teams will have 45 minutes to take part in any mix of the 8 activities inside and outside of the King Center with the objective of accruing as many points as possible, with the exception that you can only win an event a MAX of 5 times. At the end of the 45 minutes, we'll call everyone to the practice field for the points to be tallied to find the winning team and one last finisher activity: Rock Paper Scissors.
  3.  All teams will receive a scorecard (numbered 1-30) and you'll be asked to SIT with your group through the presentation!

Rosters! You can find where you've been placed on the attached document. Names are in alphabetical order unless you've been added to a roster after August 24th.
Activities! The list of the activities and their locations can be found on the other attached document

Be sure to have created your HELPER HELPER account and downloaded the application to your phone before you come to the event to ensure that you log your community service hour (check your junk email).
As this is a service activity, make sure that you introduce yourself to the designated RCPD  Youth Outreach Participant that is placed on your team. We don't know the exact number of participants that will be attending the event, so some teams may or may not have a member. Remember, as athletes, you have an incredible opportunity to be a role model within the community and positively impact the young people around you. Be sure to come to the event with an open mind, an open heart, and to have fun!
