[SDSMT-Seniors] Important Virtual Textbook Info for Graduating Seniors

Fellow Graduating Seniors,

I am Nick Wipf, a Senior Senator in our Student Association. At a recent Senate meeting, we discussed possible issues with graduating seniors losing access to virtual textbooks they own after graduation with the deactivation of school emails, so we decided to send out an email to help students keep access to their books they paid hundreds of dollars for.

If any of you have purchased e-textbooks through the school, they are likely in your VitalSource Bookshelf, which is registered through your school email. To protect these textbooks that you own from being lost in the case you lose access/forgot your password, we are recommending you change your vitalsource account to your personal email address.

Fortunately, this is an extremely easy process; all you have to do is sign in and change your account information. Below are steps with pictures for completing this process.

Once you log in, the screen should appear as the photo below. Click the tab in the top right with the person icon, and click "My Account" from the dropdown menu.

The page will now show your name and email associated with the account (as shown below). This is where you will change your school email to your personal. Once you have replaced your email, just click save.

Now, all the textbooks you own are in your bookshelf with an account under your permanent email, and you can change and reset your password through your personal email.
