Greetings, All!
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! There are just two more weeks of February left and only three weeks until Spring Break, so midterms will be upon us soon. Be sure to start studying early so that you don’t have to cram things last-minute for any midterm exams you may have and remember to take care of your mental and physical health so that you are in the best shape to perform well on those exams. Here’s an article with some self-care tips for college students<https://www.mentalhealthfirstaid.org/2022/08/seven-self-care-tips-for-college-students/>.
As a reminder, the spring semester is a time when we can reflect on those who have supported us and when we have the opportunity to recognize them for their efforts. Nominations for the 2024 Faculty/Staff Awards are due on Friday, March 8th, so if you feel someone on campus is deserving of one of the following awards, you can send your electronic nominations (see attached forms) to Gina.Fiorello at sdsmt.edu<mailto:Gina.Fiorello at sdsmt.edu>. The following awards are given out annually:
* PRESIDENTIAL AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING PROFESSOR
* Established to recognize a full-time faculty member who has demonstrated a sustained record of outstanding overall accomplishments at SD Mines.
* BENARD A. ENNENGA AWARD
* To recognize any teaching assistant, teaching associate, instructor, assistant professor, associate professor, or full professor at SD Mines who has demonstrated excellence in teaching and/or motivating students.
* VIRGINIA SIMPSON AWARD
