I hope everyone had a fun and recharging holiday break! This is the last full week of classes before the partial first week of December followed by final exams taking place from December 7th-13th. It’s hard to believe that this semester is so close to wrapping up!      *   The Great Plains Tribal Leaders Health Board is looking for volunteers to help with screening and paperwork for people attending their Historical Trauma & Unresolved Grief group that addresses and explores the cumulative effects of current and historical trauma, grief, and loss within the collective American Indian experience.      *   MEDLIFE is a non-profit organization providing service-learning experiences in Peru, Ecuador, and Tanzania.   *   Scholarship/Fellowship Opportunities:
     *   Applications for the 2024 Science Ambassador Scholarship (funded by Cards Against Humanity) are now open! (Deadline is December 13th.) The application is a 3-minute educational video of yourself explaining a STEM topic you are passionate about. This is open to undergraduates and high school seniors.      *   Spartronics is hiring for several positions within the company (located in Watertown, SD). If you are planning to graduate soon, check them out! (See attached position descriptions.) This 60-minute webinar will include a presentation on our curriculum and admissions process by Rona Woldenberg, MD, Associate Dean for Admissions, Professor of Radiology.      *   The Department of Materials Science & Engineering and the College of Engineering & Computer Science at the University of Central Florida are hosting a 10-week summer research program for students interested in the study and development of materials and devices with applications in biotechnology and medicine.
