Des Moines University’s three week Health P.A.S.S. GRE/MCAT Prep & Interview Prep
Prep for medical/health professions school and gain confidence through presentations, mock interviews, and GRE/MCAT information.

Shadowing
Shadow physicians, physical therapists and physician assistants in the on-campus clinic.

Cultural Competency Course & Certificate
Earn a certificate and conduct research based on a cultural competency course. Research is based on the Diversity Health Series.

Graduate Level Lectures
Learn from graduate-level lectures and presentations in four clinical areas: osteopathic medicine, podiatric medicine, physical therapy and physician assistant studies.

Hands-On Experiences
Enjoy hands-on experiences in state-of-the-art facilities, including simulations with life-like medical mannequins and lab activities to test your casting, suturing and surgery skills.

Meet with Experts
Receive guidance from student mentors, faculty, admission staff and more.

REQUIREMENTS
Enrollment is limited to 10 students. A minimum 3.2 GPA is recommended. Preference is given to applicants entering their junior or senior year in the summer of 2024. For consideration for the 2024 program, you must complete and submit the following:

• Complete the online application at www.dmu.edu/healthpass<http://www.dmu.edu/healthpass>.
• Respond to the application essay questions.
• Submit official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended.
• Submit parents’ 2023 federal tax returns or most recent returns if identifying as economically disadvantaged.
• Two letters of recommendation – one from your science or mathematics professor and one from any college/university professor with whom you’ve taken a course.

Return all supporting application materials by February 19th to: Des Moines University – Health P.A.S.S., Office of Admissions, 8025 Grand Avenue, West Des Moines, Iowa 50266

Preference will be given to applicants in any of the following categories:

• Economically Disadvantaged: Family income must be within federal low income guidelines. Family tax returns are required to be considered economically disadvantaged. • Educationally Disadvantaged: Neither parent has completed a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Under-represented Minority: Racial and ethnic populations that are under-represented in the medical/health professions relative to their numbers in the general population.

Enjoy fun, chaperoned activities on campus and around Iowa’s capital on weekends.

Lodging will be provided. A travel reimbursement of up to $500 will be provided upon completion of the program.
