Jack Carpenter, Goldwater Scholar and Mines Student, Completes Second Stint at NASA
Jack Carpenter, a 2019 Barry Goldwater scholarship recipient, is starting his senior year at SD Mines after spending the summer at NASA. Carpenter’s previous internship experience includes time at NASA and Oak Ridge National Laboratory last spring and summer. While at NASA, Carpenter’s work has centered around research in high temperature materials for nuclear thermal rockets.

STEAM Cafe - Mongolia: The People, Mountains and Rivers

Dr. Scott Kenner, Fulbright Scholar, will present his experiences with the people, mountains and rivers of Mongolia over the past six years. His work has included river basins in the internal west drainage, the central arctic river basins and the eastern river basins of Mongolia. The event starts at 6 p.m. at Hay Camp Brewing Company.
