The 13th annual Dublin Dash is hosted by Mines’ student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE). Check in on March 16 is from 9-9:45 a.m. and the run/race begins at 10 a.m. Proceeds support scholarships and student conference trips. There is a $5 discount for early registration before March 15 at 1 p.m. Wear green and bring your leprechaun costumes because the best group costume wins a prize!

Evan Thomas, Ph.D., presents on the history of comics, including The Cat's Castle Besieged by Rats, a violent 16th Century cat-and-mouse cartoon, proving that comic strips have a history as deep as the printing press. The presentation, from 11 a.m.-noon on Tuesday, March 19, in Classroom Building 309, is free and open to the public.

SD Mines international students and a variety of community groups will celebrate their cultural diversity with food, entertainment, and displays during the annual SD Mines Cultural Expo in the Surbeck Center. The event is open to K-12 schools from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on March 28, and open to the general public from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on March 30.

Research Experience for Teachers
Registration Open for June-July Program
SD Mines will again offer the Sustainable Development- Research Experience for Teachers program, introducing 6-12 grade science and math teachers to cutting-edge engineering and science research. This National Science Foundation-sponsored program<https://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=505170> gives teachers an opportunity to do research at Mines and develop curriculum based on the experience. Registration is now open for the six-week residential program held during June and July 2019.

Summer Camp Registration Open

SD Mines summer camps are designed to be fun and hands-on, and are for middle and high school students. Most camps last five days and students come here from all over the country to attend. Some camps are free of charge.
