Mines Provides Environmental Support to Air Force
Under a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology will work together with the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) on broad range environmental stewardship goals at Ellsworth Air Force Base and at other facilities around the nation. The MOU utilizes experts at SD Mines to help the Air Force clean up contaminated sites, reduce and prevent future pollution, maintain compliance with environmental rules and law, and protect natural and cultural resources at Air Force installations.

STEAM Cafe - Hangup Man: A Most Dangerous Job

“There are no old hangup men.”  Mark Bowron, instructor in mining & engineering management at SD Mines, presents a talk on the history of "hangup men." The job was so dangerous that it is no longer allowed under the present Mine Safety & Health Administration rules. The event starts at 6 p.m. at Hay Camp Brewing Company.

Hardrock Club NFL Youth Flag Football League
August 25 - November 3
The Hardrock Club hosts the NFL Flag Football League  this fall in O’Harra Stadium. The league is for grades 1-4. The league will have an introductory kick-off meeting on Sunday, August 25 at O’Harra Stadium for all players who are officially registered.
