      SD Mines Qualifies for 2019 ICPC World Finals
A student team of coders from SD Mines took first place in the regional competition of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), which qualifies Mines for the world finals scheduled for April 2019 in Porto, Portugal.

Dr. Steve Smith, a professor of nano-engineering at SD Mines will discuss the Nobel Prize-winning work of Gerard Mourou in the field of laser physics and how that research is applied in the real world. The event is part of Sanford Lab’s Deep Talks series. It takes place at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center in Lead, SD.

Nostalga Night Film Series

The Friends of The Devereaux Library and the Elks Theatre present the Nostalgia Night Film Series 2019 on Sunday evenings at 7:15 p.m.  The series inlcudes 10 classic films. Season tickets are available at the Devereaux Library and Elks Theatre.
