[Hardrockerstudentathletes] RMAC Mental Health Week Games, Athletic Senator Position

Hello Scholar Athletes!

I hope you are all doing well. I wanted to share with you all what we have
planned for the RMAC Mental Health Week, including how you can get a free
mental wellness shirt!

1) Thursday (February 26) is the Hardrocker Mental Wellness Night games
against Mesa. If your coaches have not shared with you yet, the student
athletes will be asked to be part of the halftime demonstration. I am
currently handing out shirts to all the coaches to distribute to you all. *The
more student athletes we have participating, the more powerful the message
will be*. The details are as follows:

   - At halftime of the men’s game, the lights will turn off and we will
   place one shirt on the court with its message and a spotlight on it. The
   video board will say “You’re Not Alone.”
   - There’s a fairly quick PA announcement from the RMAC and while that is
   being read, the student athletes wearing the shirts will leave the
   bleachers and surround the lone shirt on the court, link arms and the final
   message will be “We’re in it together."

2) Outside the wellness center, there is a poster making area for you all
to create encouraging and supportive posters to be hung in the King Center.
If supplies are running low or you would like to see certain supplies
available, please let me know!

3) Additionally, I would like to take this opportunity to share with you
all that the Student Senate is creating an Athletic Senator position, and
SAAC is looking for potential nominees for the position. There will be a
spring and fall athletic senator so you are able to serve when you are not
in your championship season. *If you are interested in this position or
have questions, please attend the upcoming SAAC meeting on March 12 at 8 pm
in the HOF*, or reach out to me directly with any questions.
